With relentless efforts, Travis Eugene Williams, his wife, and his support team are campaigning for the early release of Travis by means of clemency/a sentence reduction.
In 2005, Travis Eugene Williams was handed an excessively harsh sentence. At just 19 years old, Travis committed a single local robbery in a desperate attempt to provide for his struggling family. Despite no physical harm coming to anyone during this incident, he was sentenced to an astonishing 38 consecutive years in prison without parole and no time suspended. (See the"case Facts" for full details).
This severe punishment is grossly disproportionate when compared with other sentences given for far more serious crimes. It's not uncommon for individuals convicted of murder to receive less time behind bars, highlighting the clear disparity in our justice system.
Travis' case is not an isolated one; it represents a broader issue within our criminal justice system that often imposes overly harsh sentences on young offenders who have made mistakes but still have potential for rehabilitation. The United States has one of the highest incarceration rates globally, with over 2 million people currently behind bars (source: World Prison Brief). This approach does not serve justice or public safety; instead, it perpetuates cycles of crime and disadvantage.
We believe that everyone deserves a second chance - especially those like Travis who were barely adults at the time of their offense and did not cause physical harm. We are calling on the Virginia Department of Corrections and relevant judicial authorities to reevaluate Travis' sentence and consider reducing it in light of these circumstances.
Travis has not only remorsefully accepted responsibility for his actions, he has also:
1.) Served over 20 years of the 38 consecutive year prison sentence.
2.) Reached a satisfactory state of rehabilitation and redemption.
3.) Completed numerous institutional programs.
4.) Authored and self-published 10 books...one of which is coupled with a movement titled "Inmates for Entrepreneurial Progress", that he founded back in 2015.
5.) Co-owns a company with his wife "Kerry Williams".
6.) And more (see travisewilliams.com).
Travis has demonstrated extraordinary circumstances warranting relief as required by the law governing PARDONS/CLEMENCY in the state of Virginia.
If you believe in fair sentencing and second chances - help us by showing your support.
Secondly, email and, if possible, call the Pardon Specialist Department for the Governor's Office of Virginia to advocate on Travis’ behalf for early release.
Thirdly, follow up on all your supportive efforts by keeping this matter alive on social media and continuing to email and call the "pardon specialist" department for the Governor's office of Virginia to advocate on his behalf for early release.

Please understand that following up is key to success because the system is designed to wait us out until we no longer show a sense of urgent concern, and the issue gradually fades into the mere shadows of yesterday.
No! This matter needs to be fresh and presented every day as "today's issue" issue.
For those of you committed to get involved and act, thank you!
